Founder

Heritage Private Wealth Management, LLC (HPWM) was founded in October 2012 by Albert A. Jansen Jr. (Al) as an independent advisory firm. Al is president of HPWM and also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Before starting HPWM, Al spent 11 years with UBS Financial Services providing financial planning and wealth management services.  Prior to joining UBS, Al spent seven years in public accounting as a CPA and nine years in private accounting as a controller and chief financial officer.  While in public accounting, in addition to tax and audit services, Al worked with clients in financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning strategies, education funding, and risk management.  Al's background experience in taxation, estate planning, retirement planning, and risk management enables him to provide a thorough understanding of a client's complete financial situation to recommend an appropriate financial plan.  Just as a business must establish budgets and business plans, and periodically monitor them to ensure the business is on track, financial planning involves more than just buying bonds, stocks, or mutual funds.

Al's academic career began at Wichita State University where he received a B.B.A. with emphasis in accounting and a minor in computer science.  Al currently holds the FINRA series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as the State of Kansas insurance license that enables him to recommend life insurance, annuities and long-term care insurance.  He is also registered as an Investment Advisor Representative. Al has been a strong supporter for Catholic Charities, the YMCA "Strong Kids Campaign" and several other charities.  He serves the community through leadership in his church, St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, in St. Marks, KS. where he served as Chairperson of the Finance Council for 11 years and other leadership positions on various committees and projects.  He resides in rural western Sedgwick County with his wife and has two adult sons.
